Billy Graham Library

I recently had the privilege of visiting the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, NC. My visit was filled with awe, spiritual inspiration, and a renewed interest in living for Jesus Christ.

The Billy Graham Library and the Graham Family Homeplace are bordered by beautiful trees and include a tranquil garden where Ruth Graham was buried in 2007.

I could not help but to be inspired by how God used a farm boy from the dirt roads of North Carolina to take the message of salvation to nearly every corner of the globe. Billy Graham’s life is truly a "journey of faith" and obedience to God. His ministry impacted the world and brought millions to salvation in Jesus Christ.

The Billy Graham Library is filled with numerous exhibits that feature historic moments in Billy Graham’s life and ministry, including multimedia displays and presentations of his ministry, exhibits reminiscing his relationship with political and spiritual leaders, the restored Graham Family Homeplace, treasures from he and his wife’s life, and amazing films depicting the power of a life changed through obedience to God that both touch and inspire. I was especially inspired by Bessie, the talking cow, in her dairy farm setting. It has been said that Billy Graham even preached to her!

The highlight of my visit, though, was the reminder that God can do great things through lives that are surrendered to Him. Ordinary people can make an extraordinary impact in our world through Jesus Christ. As Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation" (Mark 16:15).

Update on Site

Extensive work has been done on the ChristianScribes.com website over the past two weeks. The site is really starting to take shape.

The domain name, christianscribes.com, has been reserved. The article rating database and corresponding Visual Basic code are in place and working. The problem with the screen fliker has been fixed by utilizing the AJAX 'UpdatePanel' control. Javascript errors have been eliminated (hopefully) and work is underway on the home page.

In the near future, I will research web hosting companies that support MSSQL 2008 database and ASP.NET pages.

Welcome to the Christian Scribes blog!

In the near future, I plan to publish a web site about Christianity—ChristianScribes.com. I chose the name Christian Scribes because the word scribes implies writers who prepare their work with great accuracy. My goal is that ChristianScribes.com will live up to that name. The site will provide biblical-based content and links to resources that teach Christian truth and genuine family values. The site will not water-down God's truth in order to be politically correct or tolerant. "We must obey God rather than men" (Acts 5:29).

The main content of ChristianScribes.com will be articles about Christianity that exemplify Christian truth and that conform to Scripture. The site will also contain resources (links, books, and other media) that will further discuss the same.

Why the need for another Christian website? While there is an abundance of Christian related content already on the Internet, there is a need for more sites that teach Christian truth. Quite frankly, I fear Christians today have lost touch with real Christianity. Current society has so watered-down God's Word and brained-washed Christians, the younger generations especially, that they simply don't know right from wrong anymore or even have a firm grasp of core Christian principles.

If Christians do not know what it means to be Christian, if they don't genuinely believe that the Holy Spirit, for example, is a real entity or that Jesus Christ truly lived a sinless life, how can they witness to a lost world or teach other believers about God?

We, as Christians, must first understand and then live by the foundational biblical doctrines or risk becoming a religion devoid of the true and living God.
